KENT A. BIEBERICH
Kent A. Bieberich
Every family or business, at some point, will need legal help. Our firm is here to help you with friendly, professional service from experienced attorneys who value your business and understand your needs.
For nearly three decades, I have worked to provide the best possible legal representation for clients by doing what it takes to get the job done, and charging clients only for productive time at a reasonable rate. I truly believe in putting the client first. During our first meeting, we will have an honest conversation about what you expect and hope to achieve. It is important at the beginning of our relationship to have an honest discussion about your goals, whether I can actually help you achieve them, and the ways in which the journey could play out. Keeping clients informed of what is going on is paramount - decisions about how to proceed belong to the client, not the lawyer.
I provide services in the following areas:
- Estate Planning and Probate
- Real Estate
- Civil Litigation and Appeals
- Tax Law
- Social Security Disability Income and Supplemental Security Income Benefits
- Wrongful Death
- Collections, Judgment Enforcement, and Enforcement of Liens
- Business Law

More on my credentials and past experience:
I was born and grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before heading off to Western Michigan University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Cum Laude through the Honors College. I received my law degree from the William and Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Virginia and was a member of the William and Mary Law Review.
My legal career began in 1988 practicing for a small law firm in the Washington, D.C. area. I successfully passed the bar examinations for the Commonwealth of Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the State of Maryland. My family and I moved "back home" in 1995, when I joined Steffel & Steffel in Battle Creek, Michigan. After 22 enjoyable years there, I was proud to become a member of Humbarger, Zebell, Parks & Bieberich, P.C. in 2017. I practice both in state and federal courts in Michigan, including the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan.
I strongly believe in giving back to my profession and the community in that I live and work. I am on the Board of Directors and past president of the Calhoun County Bar Association, a member of Estate Planning and Probate Section and past member of the Representative Assembly of the State Bar of Michigan, and a member of the American Bar Association. I serve on the Board of Directors of the Family Y Center of Battle Creek, as well as the Board of Directors of the Michigan Advocacy Project, whose programs include Legal Services of South Central Michigan. I also perform various roles at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Outside of work, I enjoy running, bicycling, following college sports, lively music, and spending time with my family, including my wife, who is a public school teacher, and two cool adult daughters and their husbands.
